As a Project Manager (PM) you will be working in the Marine Service and Digital, Process Automation Marine and Ports in Miramar, Florida. You will be leading the execution of projects, ensuring that they are executed in line with procedures, specifications, standards requirements and targets. In this role you shall oversee all aspects of the project using planning, monitoring and controlling processes. The PM is responsible for coordination and completion of the project and to this end will perform a variety of tasks including setting deadlines, assigning responsibilities and monitoring and summarizing progress of the project. The PM may be responsible for several projects at a time.

Your responsibilities

  • Manages or documents employee project performance, makes recommendations to operations management. Works with operations management to staff project teams. Assigns individual responsibilities for the team members
  • Creates and executes project work plans and revises as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements
  • Works closely with site manager to coordinate site activity. Acts as the site manager on some smaller projects
  • Examines new contracts to ensure adherence to terms or conditions and specifications. Assesses or manages project risks and opportunities
  • Builds and maintains ABB or customer relationship or Ensures customer satisfaction. Serves as prime interface with customers and project participants, on all contractual matters and maintains open communication channel with customer
  • Reviews or coordinates information flow internally, to or from vendors and to or from customers
  • Decides upon or implements actions to fully explore all possibilities and eliminate or minimize problems
  • Ensures that schedules are met. Conducts meetings to exchange information and resolve problems on assigned projects
  • Review service reports after services are done and submit them timely to the customer and the global database
  • Generates and or approves purchase orders. Approves invoices, ensuring accurate and timely invoicing. Follows up, when necessary, regarding unpaid invoices
  • Resolves disputes over back charges, delays, warranties
  • Determines appropriate revenue recognition. Analyzes project profitability, revenue, margins and other metrics
  • Drives project reviews. Manages or Reviews change requests, prepares quotes or implement changes, with support from technical and other staff as required
  • Assists sales account management to generate quotations and proposals, with support as required
Your background

  • Bachelor's degree and minimum 2 years of experience with marine industry, electrical engineering or diesel engine experience or Associate degree and minimum 4 years of with marine industry, electrical engineering or diesel engine experience or High School Diploma or GED and minimum 8 years of experience with marine industry, electrical engineering or diesel engine experience
  • Project Manager certified
  • Strong understanding of project finance and cost initiatives or full cost model
  • Consistently acknowledges and appreciates each team members contribution
  • Technical background with engineering degree preferred
  • Ability to negotiate, persuade and influence in relation with our customers and shipyards
  • Excellent presentation design and delivery skills as well as ability to drive programs, manage service jobs and review technically complex service reports
  • Experience with the cruise industry and or oil and gas offshore industry
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in service business related to Marine Industry or Electrical Engineering
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in SAP tracking service orders, purchase orders and working time
  • High awareness of safety and quality in relation to the projects in the field
  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US
