Description

The Underwriter conducts due diligence and underwrites both new and existing relationships to ensure
appropriate credit risk-return. Job functions include the following:

  • Support Business Development in early-stage prospect review.
  • Perform quantitative and qualitative analysis and evaluation of a Prospect's business, to include:
    • Historical and projected financial spread modeling
    • Collateral analysis based on both independent review and 3 rd party due diligence
    • Research Industry and competitive landscape
    • Identification of strengths and risks of the transaction
  • Coordinate 3rd-party due diligence including field exams, appraisals, and KYC.
  • Prepare a fulsome approval memo (CCM) for presentation to Cadence's Senior Management
    with participation in the presentation to the senior approval group.
  • Collaborate with the BDO's and Portfolio Management to ensure a seamless process from the
    initial term sheet through closing the facility.
  • Assist with the legal documentation process.
  • All other duties as assigned by management.

Experience:

  • Two - four years as an Asset Based Field Examiner, Portfolio Manager or Underwriter preferred.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Concepts of Asset Based Lending and Lender Finance
  • Portfolio Management and / or Underwriting experience
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Experience with financial and cash flow analysis
  • Independent thinking in a team environment
  • Organized with the ability to multi-task and assign priorities
  • Works cooperatively with others
  • Regular and reliable attendance
