Position Summary

Removes and packages the material from the end of the Foam Oven line using established guidelines while meeting quality, productivity, waste and safety goals.

Essential Job Function

Assists the Oven Technician in monitoring the end of the Foam Line for material to exit oven when starting up.

Removes material from belt and threads through 2 different cooling rollers, embossing unit and up to the cutting area.

For cut material, makes cut and stacks mat on pallet.

For rolled material, inserts core on wind-up machine and winds material on line, moves roll of material from wind-up machine and transports by dolly to designated area.

Properly packages material according to product type, by either boxing, wrapping in plastic, placing in racks, or directly onto pallet.

Constructs boxes used for packaging.

Labels product on pallets, moves pallets by pallet jack to staging area.

Notifies Oven Technician of any cut or scrap product.

Works as a team with other Foam Oven Take Off Operator, conducts embossing roll change according to prescribed work instructions.

Assists in belt changeover.

Continuously monitors the quality of the product to ensure that it meets quality standards and places appropriate inspection sticker either on labels, tags, or material.

Assists in maintaining department in accordance with good housekeeping practices.

Observes all safety and environmental procedures.

Performs other duties as requested by supervision.

Job Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent required.

Must know how to read, write, add and subtract whole numbers, and follow instructions where interpretation is not required.

Rarely deals with the outside, low humidity, wetness, slippery surfaces, vibration, confined space, noise, chemical irritant, oil, odors, explosives, electrical hazards, and toxic conditions. Occasionally deals with low temperature, high temperature, high humidity, and high elevation. Frequently deals with the inside, and moving objects.

Equipment Used

This job uses utility knife, tape gun, staple gun, wind-up machine, pallet jack, wheeled cart, cut resistant gloves, and tape measure.
